No accounts, no cookies, no email address asked for. The detail:
When you lock in your ten, the site stores: the ten song ids in your order, your score, the prize you picked, the first name you typed if you typed one, a random token your browser made so you can only vote once, and a scrambled version of your address. That scramble is a salted hash, only ever compared to itself to stop scripts stuffing the ballot, and deleted after 24 hours. The day you voted is kept.
The optional "a bit about you" box also stores your country, sex and a rough age band. You pick them from a list, and they are there mainly so the fans' ten can be viewed by country, sex or age. Your country shows as a small flag on your own share card; your sex and age never appear anywhere public. A country, a sex and a decade do not identify you.
Your ten is public by link. The card you share carries a link, and anyone who opens it sees your ten, your first name, your prize and the day. Type no name and it says "a mate's ten". A card opened from your link carries no country, sex or age — none of the three is sent back by the link; the flag is drawn only on your own copy of the card, from the country kept in your browser.
Nothing here identifies you, so there is no account to delete. If you typed your real name and want it gone, email hello@definitelyten.com with the name and roughly when you voted.
Only your first lock-in counts as a vote. If it did not get through first time, that same first ten is sent when it does. Trying again is scored in your browser and never sent anywhere.
The site counts page views and four steps of the game (started picking, locked in, chose a prize, shared) with PostHog, hosted in the EU and run cookieless: nothing is written to your device, your address is discarded on arrival, nothing you do on the page is recorded, and you are never identified. That is why there is no cookie banner. Fonts and images come from this site, so PostHog is the only other company involved.
Your picks, order and score live in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them. Clear the site's data and they are gone; the one vote above is the only thing kept on our side.
